Dear Members, Supporters and Friends of the Innisfil District Association,
Thank you for the opportunity to send this note to you. As President, in a year of great opportunity and change, I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts about our association.
This past year, we’ve continued to raise our profile through participation in and presence at community events such as Celebrate Lake Simcoe Festival and Pow Wow, Spirit of the Community Dinner and Auction and Municipal Elections Matter, to name just a few. We’ve continued to strengthen our strategic alliances with organizations such as the Lake Simcoe Association, Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition and the North Gwillimbury Forest Alliance. By renewing our commitment to other groups working to achieve change within the Lake Simcoe watershed, we too are stronger in our commitment to our own Mission, Vision and Goals. Under increasing pressure to manage the staggering number of issues facing our town, our Mission and Vision bear repeating here:
Mission Our mission is to inform and encourage Innisfil residents living within the Lake Simcoe watershed to work together to create a sustainable community.
Vision We envision an environmentally sustainable community that promotes a healthy Lake Simcoe and its watershed.
Going forward, with both a Provincial and Municipal election looming in 2018, we must not lose sight of our mandate, our commitment to you as members, friends and supporters and, most of all, our commitment to this community. We have the respect of our Council and our peers. We’re working hard to extend our reach and offer fresh opportunities to serve on our Board and volunteer in our Association. We’re exploring innovative ways to accomplish our many goals. On behalf of our Board of Directors, we thank you for your continued support and look forward to hearing from you about how we’re doing. Your voice matters. We wish you a wonderful holiday season and thank you for the opportunity to serve.
Respectfully,
Deborah McGrath, President 2017-18
